Her key area of focus is psychotherapy/counselling for patients with mental health problems such as depression, anxiety, OCD, stress coping difficulty, marital dysharmony, anger issues, addiction, sexual dysfunction, etc. Besides adult psychiatry, she has a special interest in child and adolescent psychiatry with focus on Autism, ADHD, childhood behaviourioral problems, etc.

Dr. Sumaiya Nausheen Ahmed, MD is Associate Professor and Head of Department of Psychiatry at Universal Medical College, Mohakhali, Dhaka. She has been practicing and researching within the field for over 8 years.
Work Experience
Dr. Sumaiya graduated from Mymensingh Medical College and Hospital in 2011. Subsequently she did her postgraduate studies (MD) in Psychiatry from Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU). She qualified as a Psychiatrist in 2021.
